Solicitor General said misuse of law
During the hearing of the case, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, Telangana High Court had no jurisdiction in this matter. Both the crime and the FIR took place in Assam. The accused is saying that he keeps coming to Hyderabad because his wife’s house is here, while his wife herself also lives in Delhi. In this way, filing a petition in a third state is an abuse of law.
The judge said, we have come to know that he has also filed an application for extension of time for 3 weeks in the Telangana High Court. Mehta said, see the court yourself. In this way, someone will rent a house in Nagaland and file a petition there. The judge said, it was placed before us that the accused filed the petition at a place of his convenience through fake documents. We are issuing notice. There will be a stay on the order of the High Court for the time being.
Telangana court had granted bail
The Telangana High Court on Friday (April 10) granted him anticipatory bail for a week. The case pertains to the FIR lodged by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, for allegedly making defamatory and malicious allegations against her. He had sought interim protection from arrest in the case registered against him by Assam Police.
Assam Police has registered a case
Assam Police has registered a case against Pawan Kheda at Guwahati Crime Branch Police Station for alleged defamation, forgery and criminal conspiracy. This case was registered against him when he claimed that Rinki Bhuiyan had several foreign passports and undeclared properties abroad. A team of Assam Police had reached the house of Pawan Kheda in Delhi on Tuesday. However, Kheda was not present there at that time.

This Congress leader is under the radar of Assam Police after making sensational allegations against Chief Minister Sarma’s wife. A case has also been registered against him under 14 sections of BNS, which include defamation, forgery and criminal conspiracy. The controversy started after Pawan Kheda’s press conference on Sunday, in which he claimed that Rinki Bhuyan Sarma has three passports, undeclared luxurious properties in Dubai and also has shell companies in America.
