The situation regarding America-Iran peace talks is not clear yet. Reuters quoted a source as saying that US Vice President JD Vance has not left for Pakistan for talks with Iran. This development has come to light when Donald Trump told the New York Post that the American delegation has left for talks. An Iranian source said on Monday that Tehran is considering joining peace talks.
There is confusion regarding the talks because ships are not able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz due to threats from Iran and the American blockade. Pakistan is confident that it will convince Iran to join talks with America.
A senior Pakistani government official told Reuters on Monday that we have received positive signals from Iran. The situation is uncertain, but we are trying to have him here when we start the talks tomorrow or the day after.
Blockade will continue until agreement is reached – Trump
President Donald Trump has said that the US will not lift its blockade of Iranian ports until Tehran agrees to a peace deal to end the war. “This blockade, which we will not lift until a deal is reached, is completely ruining Iran. They are losing $50 million a day, which is completely intolerable,” Trump said on social media.
Oil sanctions will come with a price: Tehran
Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif said that global fuel prices can stabilize only when economic and military pressure on Iranian oil exports is stopped. “One cannot restrict Iran’s oil exports while expecting free security for others. The choices are clear: either a free oil market for all, or the risk of huge losses for all,” Arif wrote in a post on X.
