Government takes action amid Middle East tension, PM Modi gives these strict instructions on misinformation and rumors

Middle East Conflicts: Amid the Iran War, the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be in full action mode. A detailed review of the availability and supply system of essential commodities for the general public was conducted in the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister gave clear instructions that all possible steps should be taken to minimize the impact of the current global crisis on common citizens. Also, taking misinformation and rumors seriously, he said that it is very important to provide correct and timely information to the public. In the CCS meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Foreign Minister S. Many senior ministers including Jaishankar were present.

Instructions in CCS meeting

Regarding energy and essential resources, during the meeting, the government assured that there are sufficient reserves of coal in the country, which can meet the electricity needs in the coming months. Apart from this, measures related to ensuring supply of LPG and LNG from diverse sources, reduction in fuel duty and power sector were also reviewed.

The government also discussed strategies to deal with emerging challenges in agriculture, fertiliser, shipping, aviation, logistics and MSME sectors. Strict steps are being taken to keep the prices of essential commodities stable and to stop hoarding and black marketing.

Measures to mitigate emerging challenges

Under this, control rooms have been set up for constant coordination with the states and union territories. Besides, to maintain the supply of fertilizers, emphasis has also been laid on continuing urea production and increasing coordination with foreign suppliers for DAP/NPKS, so that there is no shortage in the country.
