A fire has broken out in Anandlok Hospital in Kolkata. As soon as information about the fire was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Amidst the chaos, patients admitted to the hospital are being shifted to other safe places. However, it is not yet clear how many people were admitted in the hospital at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. Amidst the news of fire, patients are being shifted with the help of stretchers and wheelchairs. According to media reports, it is estimated that after the fire, about 75 to 80 patients have been taken out of the hospital and taken to another building. Amidst all this, the news of relief is that all the people present in the hospital are safe and the work of controlling the fire is going on continuously.
What did the fire officer tell?
According to the officer, they received information at 10 am, after which three fire vehicles were sent to the spot to extinguish the fire. A fire official said that a fire broke out on the first floor of a private health center located at Karunamoyee Crossing in Salt Lake. The reason for this incident has not been known yet.

The Telegraph quoted sources as saying that smoke was seen rising from the hospital’s cath lab. This lab is on the second floor. The fire department suspects that the fire broke out due to a short circuit inside the AC. However, nothing has been said officially till now. Speaking to the media, eyewitnesses said that flames were visible from the second floor. Shortly after this, the entire area was filled with smoke.

According to the report, a police officer said that all the patients of the hospital are safe and the hospital has been completely evacuated. At present there is no news of any casualty. All floors are being closely checked to ensure that no patient is left behind.
