China Four Point Proposal: China on Tuesday presented a four-point proposal for peace in the Middle East. In this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has shared the comments on behalf of President Xi Jinping. Xi made the proposal in a meeting with Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This development has come to light after the failed first round of talks. According to Chinese media, Xi said that China will continue to play a constructive role in advancing peace talks in the region.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Xi Jinping emphasized China’s principled stance of promoting peace and appealing for dialogue. He will continue to play this creative role. Posting on X, Mao said that this proposal focuses on principles like peace, co-existence, sovereignty, international law. Xi Jinping said that he made four proposals to protect and promote peace and stability in the Middle East. The first point emphasizes the importance of peaceful coexistence among the Gulf countries.
What things has China mentioned in its four-point proposal?
- China said that there are such close neighbors in the Middle East who cannot be separated from each other. Helping Gulf countries improve their relations is vital to working towards building a common, comprehensive, cooperative and security framework for the Middle East and the Gulf region. Apart from this, China calls for respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Sovereignty serves as the basis for the survival and prosperity of all countries, especially developing countries. This should not be violated.
- Apart from this, it has been said from China’s side that it should remain committed to the principles of international law. It is important to steadfastly maintain the basic norms governing international relations, supported by the international system, international law, the international order and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.
- From China’s side it was said that sovereignty, security and territorial integrity should be respected with full seriousness. The security of their employees, facilities and resources should be ensured with utmost care. Security is an essential condition for development. Development works to protect security. All parties should work towards creating a favorable environment for the development of the Gulf countries and bring positive energy into it. Apart from this, it has been said that China is ready to share the opportunities arising from modernization with the Gulf countries and work together for regional development and security.
