The heart-wrenching incident that happened to a 33-year-old tribal woman in Medak district of Telangana has shocked the entire state. The woman, who was lured on the pretext of labour, was allegedly gang-raped and then brutally beaten to death.
The victim died during treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday night (October 11, 2025). The police have registered a case of murder in this matter and have intensified the search for the suspects. According to the police, this inhuman crime took place on Friday morning in the forest area around Apaji Palli of Kolcharam mandal in Medak district.
Seduced the woman by luring her with a job
The victim, who was a resident of a tribal settlement in Medak Mandal. Had left for Medak city on Friday for labour. Sources say that some unknown person won his trust by luring him with a job and took him to a forest area about seven kilometers away.
There those criminals gang-raped the woman. After the crime, they tied the victim’s hands with her saree and brutally attacked her with iron rods and other weapons, causing serious injuries on her head and body. The attackers succeeded in escaping from the spot.
Death of victim woman during treatment
The victim remained seriously injured and semi-conscious in the forest throughout Friday night. On Saturday morning, local villagers found him unconscious tied under a tree and immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the police team led by DSP Prasanna Kumar reached the spot.
The police took the victim to Medak Government Hospital in a police vehicle, where after first aid, when her condition worsened, she was referred to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. Unfortunately, the victim died during treatment in the early morning of Sunday (October 12, 2025).
Police is conducting raids to catch the accused
Medak police had initially registered a case of rape, but after the death, it was registered as a crime under sections 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the IPC. CCTV footage is being examined in the investigation, which is expected to provide clues about the suspects who seduced the victim.
SP Medak D.V. Srinivas Rao said that a special team has been formed and raids are being conducted to arrest the suspects. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was married and mother of two children. The victim’s husband said, ‘She had gone for labor in the morning itself, little did we know that this would be her last meeting.’ The police conducted the postmortem of the victim’s body and made arrangements for the last rites.
