The winter session of Parliament is going to start from Monday (December 1, 2025). During this session, the Central Government is going to table 14 new bills in the Parliament, emphasis will be given by the Center on passing them with full majority. On the other hand, the opposition is preparing to corner the central government on many important issues including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of voter list going on in 12 states and union territories of the country and the Delhi terrorist attack.
Which 14 bills will the Center present in Parliament?
The winter session of Parliament will run from today till December 19, 2025, in which a total of 15 meetings will be held. During this period, the central government will introduce 14 bills, including opening the civil nuclear sector to private companies, which will include insurance law, Diwali law, corporate law, securities market, national highways, higher education commission, atomic energy, GST and cess bills related to national security.

The central government has said that the proceedings of Parliament should run smoothly and it will continue talks with opposition parties to avoid a deadlock. At the same time, an all-party meeting was held under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday (November 30, 2025) regarding the winter session of Parliament, after which Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that I am saying positively that we are ready to listen to the opposition, Parliament belongs to everyone, belongs to the country.
Opposition plans to corner the government in Parliament
Under the leadership of the main opposition party Congress, many parties including Trinamool Congress (TMC), Samajwadi Party, DMK are preparing to corner the central government in the winter session of Parliament. In such a situation, it cannot be denied that the winter session may begin with a lot of uproar and conflict.
The opposition will first unite against the SIR process in 12 states and union territories of the country and press the government for discussion. However, the government has already made it clear that the issue of SIR cannot be raised in Parliament. Opposition parties are accusing the Center of deleting names of lakhs of voters from the voter list and stealing votes. He says that in the name of SIR, the government is preparing the voter list as per its wish by removing backward, Dalit, deprived and poor voters from the list.
