Weather Update: In view of the impact of the new western disturbance in North-West India, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light rain and strong winds on Monday. There is a possibility of sporadic rain on Tuesday also. Due to another western disturbance on April 2, there may be very light rain in Delhi on April 3 and 4.

Experts said that rain was recorded in the Himalayan ranges and parts of northern Punjab on Sunday. Mahesh Palawat, vice president, Skymet, said, “Rajasthan also witnessed strong winds, but the sky remained mostly clear in Delhi, leading to a sharp rise in the maximum temperature.”

Despite yellow alert being issued for rain in the capital Delhi, it remained sunny throughout the day. The city’s maximum temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius, which was 4 degrees above normal and close to the season’s high temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius recorded on March 11. The minimum temperature was 19.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees above normal.

According to IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Delhi today. The beginning of April is likely to be relatively cool. After this, there will be another western disturbance around 2nd and 3rd April, after which another disturbance will come between 6th and 9th April, so the temperature is not likely to rise very rapidly.

April will be cold
According to meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya, western disturbances are likely to continue next month also, due to which the heat wave will not last till the end of April. He posted on Twitter that due to western disturbance the temperature will remain under control and it is estimated that the temperature in the north-western and central parts of the country will remain 2-5 degrees Celsius below normal till at least April 20.

According to forecasts, there will be a huge drop in temperature on Monday. There is a possibility of cloudy sky and rain, due to which the temperature will remain between 30-32 degrees Celsius. The temperature is expected to remain the same on Tuesday also. The minimum temperature on Monday is expected to be around 20-22 degrees Celsius.

March in Delhi started with warm weather and less rainfall, but in the second fortnight, several western disturbances brought humidity and rain over the region. The weather in the city remained relatively cool, but the temperature has increased rapidly by about 4 degrees Celsius in the last 48 hours. The maximum temperature was 32.6 degrees Celsius on Friday and 33.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
