Amidst the war in the Middle East, Iran has made a big offer to European countries. He has said that he is ready to open the Strait of Hormuz for them. This statement of Iran has come at a time when, despite the threat of US President Donald Trump, European countries have clearly refused to support them in the war.
European countries like France, Italy, Spain and Britain have said that this is not their war and they will not get involved in it. British Prime Minister Keir Stormer had also offered to hold a meeting with 35 countries on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) on the issue of Hormuz. Trump had asked European countries to support America in the war by threatening to leave the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which these countries have refused.
