US Iran Peace Talks in Pakistan: A major diplomatic stir is being seen in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad regarding regional peace. As soon as America’s Vice President JD Vance reached Pakistan, he had an important meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The purpose of this meeting is to end the ongoing war with Iran and establish permanent peace in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US Vice President JD Vance on Saturday. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were also present in this meeting along with Vance.
Steps will be taken towards permanent peace
The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement saying that the commitment of both the delegations to constructive talks is commendable. Shahbaz Sharif expressed hope that these talks would prove to be a strong step towards lasting peace in the region.
Pakistan is playing the role of mediator
The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play its role in taking forward the dialogue between the two sides and cooperate towards a permanent solution. Along with Shahbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Home Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi were also present in this meeting.

This talk is taking place at a time when there is a two-week temporary pause in the ongoing war between America, Israel and Iran. This conflict started on February 28 and has spread throughout the Middle East and has affected the global economy. A temporary ceasefire was implemented with the mediation of Pakistan on April 8, after which the way for peace talks is now open.
JD Vance arrives in Pakistan
JD Vance’s plane landed at Noor Khan airbase at around 11 am on Saturday morning. There he was welcomed by Ishaq Dar, Mohsin Naqvi and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry also confirmed the arrival of the American delegation. Ishaq Dar praised America’s commitment to regional and global peace and expressed hope that all parties would interact in a positive manner.
