There are sharp reactions in political circles on the statement of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani. Regarding this, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said that such statements are made to divert public attention from the burning issues of the country, which is very unfortunate.

While talking to IANS, he presented this issue as an unnecessary controversy created by the media. Priyanka Chaturvedi said that she is surprised that suddenly Mahmood Madani is being brought into limelight. The media is repeatedly making him make controversial statements, which clearly reflects an agenda – to divert attention from the serious issues facing the public.

Priyanka Chaturvedi alleged that to avoid discussing the important challenges the country is facing, such as allegations of vote theft, complex processes related to SIR, corruption and rising unemployment among the youth, such issues are being blown out of the air. He said that which political party benefits from this is not hidden from anyone. He said that such controversial statements are being used as a political tool, which is very unfortunate. He also said that those who are constantly questioning the integrity of the Supreme Court are completely wrong.

Referring to the terrorist incidents, Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and Delhi make it clear that Jaish-e-Mohammed was carrying a bigger agenda of spreading unrest in India. He warned that language like ‘Jihad’ is being used by Pakistan to confuse and instigate the youth, which can strengthen terrorist organizations. He asked the Home Ministry what action it is taking on this serious issue.

Maulana Mahmood Madani said in the program of Jamiat-Ulama-Hind that Muslims are hurt a lot by using words like Love Jihad, Land Jihad, Education Jihad and Spit Jihad. They have no shame nor do they care about hurting the entire community. During this, while making controversial remarks, Maulana Mahmood Madani said that whenever there is oppression, there will be jihad.

Raising questions on the Supreme Court, Madani said, ‘It is impossible to create law and order and crime-free society in any country without justice. Sadly, in the last few years, especially after the decisions in cases like Babri Masjid and Triple Talaq, it has become a common perception that the courts are working under government pressure. The Supreme Court deserves to be called Supreme only as long as it follows the rules and takes care of the duties of the law. If he does not do this then he is morally not entitled to be called supreme.
