Union Cabinet Decisions Potato Center in Up Pune Metro Extension Jhariakhand Ashwini Vaishnaw Announsed

Union cabinet meeting: Several major decisions were taken on Wednesday (25 June 2025) at the Union Cabinet meeting. The Modi government at the Center has given a big gift to Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Rs 3,626 crore was approved for Line-2 of Pune Metro. The Union Cabinet approved the revised Jharia Master Plan of Rs 5,940 crore for rehabilitation.

The Union Cabinet took these three major decisions

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “3 big decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting today. 3626 crore was passed for Pune Metro expansion. The second Jharia (Jharkhand) is a very old issue of underground fire. A revised master plan of Rs 5940 crore was approved for this. The third will be set up in Agra at a cost of Rs 111 crore.”

Pune Metro Rail Project Phase-2 approved

The cabinet approved the Pune Metro Rail Project Phase-2. Approved Vanaj-1 to Chandni Chowk (Corridor-2A) and Ramwadi to Vagholi/Vitthalwadi (Corridor-B) as the expansion of Phase-1 of the current Vanaz-Ramwadi Corridor. The elevated corridor will spread up to 12.75 km and will include 13 stations.

International potato center approved in Agra

The Union Cabinet approved the establishment of the South Asia Regional Center of the International Potato Center (CIP) at Singana, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The main objective of this investment is to increase food and nutritional security, farmers’ income and new employment by improving the productivity of potatoes and sweet potatoes, after harvesting.

What did Ashwini Vaishnav say about Shubhanshu Shukla’s Acome Mission 4?

The Union Minister read the proposal on India’s Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s Acome Mission 4. He said, “We welcome the successful launch of the Space Mission with astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and America. Indian astronauts, group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, are on the way to become the first Indian to go to the international space station. He brought with him the wishes, expectations and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians.”
