Yes, Border Roads Organization (BRO) has constructed the world’s highest motorable road at an altitude of 19,400 feet at Mig La Pass near Leh-Ladakh. BRO has again registered its name in the Guinness Book of World Records by constructing this motorable road.
The BRO team reached the summit of Mig La Pass in Leh district of Ladakh on Thursday (October 2, 2025) and hoisted the flag of India and the Border Roads Organization (BRO) at a height of 19,400 feet (5,913 meters) above sea level.
BRO Came forward by breaking his own record
Mig La Pass located in Leh district of Union Territory Ladakh has now become the world’s highest motorable road. Not only this, BRO has done this amazing feat by breaking its own previous world record. Earlier, BRO’s name was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records for building a road on Umling La Pass at a height of 19,024 feet. Crossing this, BRO has given a new definition to strategic connectivity in one of the most inaccessible areas of the world and has created a new world record.

This newly constructed motorable road from Likaru-Mig La Pass, Hanle to Fukche under Project Himank holds a very important position from strategic point of view. Apart from this, this road is also very important from the point of view of promoting tourism in this region of Ladakh.
