US Clears Mines In Strait Of Hormuz: America has deployed two warships to counter the growing threats in the Strait of Hormuz. The forces of American Central Command i.e. CENTOM have started preparations for the operation to remove landmines in this area. America has deployed two Navy guided missile destroyers USS Frank E. Peterson and UAS Michael Murphy on this oil route.
The purpose of this American mission is to search and remove landmines allegedly laid by Iran in the sea. These landmines can blow up any ship including oil tankers.
The American military command said that both these ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Have conducted operations in the Arabian Gulf. This is a big mission. Its purpose is to remove landmines laid under IRGC in the Strait of Hormuz.
After all, how will America remove these blast tunnels?
Instead of sending ships directly into mines, the Navy uses robotic machines called unmanned underwater vehicles, or UUVs. These are called MK-18 or Mod 2 Kingfish. It is of the size of a torpedo. They move automatically in water. High-tech sonar is used to map the sea surface and detect hidden explosives.
Apart from these, America has also deployed MH-60S helicopters. These helicopters scan the sea with the help of laser units under Airborne Laser Mine Detection System i.e. ALMDS. It detects landmines present just below the water. These destroyers are not only deployed to search for landmines, but are also important from security point of view.
These are also equipped with combat systems and advanced interceptor missiles. It can detect and eliminate air and ground threats. These also include threats from IRGC. Whenever the tunnels are detected, they destroy them through remote control system. It is also called Airborne Mine Neutralization System.
This system sends a small robotic device. It leads straight to a landmine. It explodes after reaching him. US Admiral Brad Cooper said that today we have started the work of building a new path.
