According to DCP SK Singh, the aim of this step is to increase public convenience and simplify the payment process. About 1,500 QR code scanners will be installed across Delhi. In the old system, one had to visit the portal again and again or wait in the Lok Adalat, but now with the entire system being integrated, the number of pending challans will reduce and the process will be faster.

(New Delhi), Delhi Traffic Police has now started a new system in which people can pay challan very easily. Delhi Traffic Police DCP Traffic Headquarters SK Singh said that the main objective of launching this system is to increase the convenience of the public and to simplify the process of filing challan. Earlier people often complained that they were not able to pay the challan on the government portal or the court portal or the payment used to decline. Now this problem is over. Now payment can be made instantly through UPI by scanning the QR code, and as soon as the payment is made, it will be immediately visible in the system.
According to officials, around 1,500 QR code scanners will be installed across Delhi. Earlier people used to visit the portal again and again or wait for their turn in Lok Adalat. Many times, even after payment, it took time for the system to be updated. Now the system is completely integrated, which will simplify the process and also reduce the number of pending challans. Now the traffic police sends a message to your mobile number while issuing challan. If you want to make immediate payment then the police generate a QR code. You just scan that QR code with your UPI app like Google Pay, PhonePe or PATM and transfer the money. As soon as the payment is successful, it is updated in the system and the receipt is also received. All this happens in a few seconds.
On-the-spot payment through QR code
- Scan the QR code of the challan.
- Make instant payment through UPI app.
Method of payment through UPI app
- After receiving the challan related message on mobile, open the UPI app linked to your vehicle registration number.
- A list of pending challans will appear in the app.
- Select the challan to be paid and make the payment through the app.
- You will receive a message on your mobile once the payment is confirmed.
Note that in both the methods the payment status will be updated immediately on the government website. Delhi Traffic Police has warned people to beware of fraud. Pay the challan only through the official portal or court website. This system will reduce people’s problems and cashless transactions will increase. Transparency will also come because everything will become digital. Last year, lakhs of challans and notices were pending in Delhi. Now this system will also help in reducing backlog.
