A major railway accident occurred on Monday (July 14, 2025) at Tirupati railway station. Two coaches of Tirupati-Hisar Express (04717) parked on the loop line of Tirupati railway station caught fire. There was a stir in the train coaches as soon as the fire broke out. However, it was a matter of honor that there was no passenger in the train at the time of the fire incident.
Eyewitnesses said that smoke spread all around due to a fire from a general compartment. Local railway employees immediately informed the senior officials on the incident of fire. The authorities separated the two coaches from the train with the help of the driver, so that the fire did not spread to other coaches. Fire fighting personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire immediately after the incident. Dried chemical powder was also used to extinguish the fire.
Short circuit may cause fire
According to railway sources, the flames and smoke were so fast that there was an atmosphere of chaos for some time. As soon as the incident was reported, the local police also reached the spot and started investigating the cause of the fire. Initial investigation is expected to cause a short circuit due to the fire. The police inspected the scene and started questioning the people around. The Vande Bharat train coming from the front due to this fire was also stopped for some time.
Questions raised on railway security system
This incident has once again questioned the security system of the railway. Experts believe that regular maintenance in old coaches and lack of technical investigation can cause such incidents. The railway administration has assured that the matter will be investigated thoroughly and further steps will be taken to prevent such incidents. Currently, the situation is under control.
