Officials of Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) said that the flight coming to Hyderabad from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia was diverted towards Mumbai after receiving information about the security threat. In fact, a threatening email was received on RGIA on Saturday (November 1, 2025), in which it was claimed that there was a human bomb on board Indigo Airlines flight 6E 68 from Jeddah to Hyderabad. After this the plane’s route was changed towards Mumbai, where it landed safely.
What complaint did the airport officials make to the police?,
While filing a complaint with the police, airport officials said that they received a threatening email at around 5:30 in the morning, warning them not to land the IndiGo flight in Hyderabad. Police said the email said, ‘LTTE-ISI people aboard the plane have planned a major blast like the 1984 Madras airport attack.’
After this, all the stakeholders were alerted and the plane was diverted towards Mumbai Airport, where it landed safely. Police said all (security) checks were conducted and no problems were found. Police said that a case has been registered based on the complaint and investigation is ongoing.
Airline company spokesperson issued statement
An IndiGo airline spokesperson issued a statement saying, ‘On Saturday (November 1, 2025), a security threat mail was received for IndiGo flight 6E 68 from Jeddah to Hyderabad and the aircraft was diverted towards Mumbai. Following the standard protocol, the airline immediately informed the concerned authorities and cooperated fully with them in conducting the necessary safety checks before clearing the aircraft for onward operations.
He said, ‘We have made every possible effort to minimize the inconvenience to our customers (passengers), which includes providing them refreshments and sharing regular information.’
