‘This year every infiltration attempt on the Line of Control failed, eight terrorists were killed’, said BSF officer

There was no terrorist infiltration into Kashmir from across the Line of Control (LOC) during the current year. A senior Border Security Force official said on Monday that eight infiltrators were killed by security forces, while five others were forced to return. During this period, four infiltration attempts by terrorist operatives were foiled.

BSF Inspector General (IG) Ashok Yadav told reporters on the force’s 61st raising day, ‘BSF, along with the Army, ensured efficient and effective control along the Line of Control, as a result of which all infiltration attempts from the Kashmir Valley were foiled this year. The force has also made a significant contribution in maintaining strong security arrangements in the interior areas during Shri Amarnath Yatra 2025.

Ashok Yadav said that BSF along with the army killed eight terrorists, while five others were forced to return. He said, ‘Our G-unit is keeping a close watch on all the 69 active ‘launching pads’ on the Line of Control, where around 100-120 terrorists are trying to infiltrate. Along with this, various training camps of terrorists are also under the scanner of our intelligence branch.

Ashok Yadav said that BSF is effectively deployed on the 343 km long Line of Control in coordination with the Kashmir Frontier Army. Apart from this, BSF units are coordinating with police and other security agencies to protect vital installations and provide security to the people of Kashmir, he said.

Ashok Yadav said that the most notable achievement of BSF during 2025 has been Operation Sindoor. The IG said, ‘BSF units along with the Indian Army effectively fired on Pakistani posts and terrorist hideouts along the Line of Control and showed a strong, precise and professional response.’ He said that the effective action of BSF against the enemy during Operation Sindoor was highly appreciated by the leadership of the country.

Ashok Yadav said BSF Kashmir Frontier has deployed women soldiers in forward areas along the Line of Control – at high altitude positions and at round-the-clock check posts on roads near the Line of Control – to prevent women members and supporters associated with terrorist organizations and smuggling networks.
