Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the duty building in Delhi on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) and dedicated it to the nation. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the new office of the Ministry of Home Affairs has now shifted to Duty Bhavan and from here the direction of developed India and future will be decided.
Not just building, Nation building symbol, PM Modi
PM Modi said that the new Parliament House, Naya Raksha Bhawan, Bharat Mandapam and National War Memorial are not just ordinary infrastructure including Kartya Bhawan. Here the policies of developed India will be made, important decisions will be made and the direction of the nation will be decided in the coming time “.
Prime Minister Modi said, “The word duty is not limited to only obligation in Indian culture, but it is the essence of karmapradhan life philosophy. It is not the name of the building. It is the taphoomi to realize the dreams of millions of countrymen. Duty is the beginning, the life of Maa Bharati is the carrier of the life energy.”
Modern facilities for employees present in duty building- PM Modi
The Prime Minister said, “The 21st century India needs an administrative buildings where the employees are comfortable, the decisions are fast and the services are smooth. Duty Bhawan has a roof solar panel, energy efficient design and modern facilities for the employees. The government is constructing many more such duty buildings, so that the ministry can work closely and work with better coordination.”
Earlier, 1500 crores were spent on fare- PM Modi
PM Modi said, “Earlier many ministries of the Government of India were operated from 50 different places in Delhi, of which were in rented buildings. Only on rent was about Rs 1,500 crore every year. Now the construction of an unified building will reduce administrative expenses and increase the speed of functioning.”
Development of widespread infrastructure in the country- PM Modi
In his address, the Prime Minister also mentioned the ongoing construction works across the country. He said, “So far more than 30,000 panchayat buildings, more than 4 crore pucca houses for the poor, more than 300 new medical colleges, more than 1,300 Amrit Bharat railway stations and about 90 new airports are ready or under construction.”
PM Modi said, “The previous decade has been a decade of good governance. When the government performs its duties seriously, its effect is clearly visible in governance.”
