Middle East Tensions: Amidst the increasing tension in the Middle East, on one hand, US President Donald Trump is busy putting pressure on Iran, while on the other hand, he is angry at not getting the expected support from the allied countries. Tension is at its peak in the Gulf region, but many European countries have distanced themselves from direct involvement in this conflict.
In fact, countries like France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland did not allow American military aircraft to use their airspace or bases. This has affected America’s strategic plans and has also increased Trump’s anger.
Many countries shocked America
Donald Trump seemed quite angry with the attitude of the allies amid the Iran war. He clearly said that when these countries need American help in the future, the United States will also not support them. Trump took a jibe at NATO allies and said that they should either buy Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) from America or bring oil from the Strait of Hormuz themselves.
The United Kingdom also refused to get directly involved in this war, although it has decided to deploy additional military forces and air defense systems to protect its interests in the region. Britain says its aim is not to jump directly into war, but to maintain regional stability and protect its citizens and allies from possible attacks.
War and fear of being dragged
This situation shows that even though America and its traditional allies are members of NATO, all countries have different strategies and priorities regarding this conflict. This is the reason why America is not getting the expected global support this time, due to which the geopolitical equations are becoming more complex.
On the other hand, the US Defense Minister has clearly said that the ongoing war with Iran will end only on Donald Trump’s terms. He gave a clear message to Iran and said that it will have to accept American decisions. At the same time, Trump claimed in a conversation with the New York Post that America has completely weakened Iran and now it does not have much strength left.
He also said that the countries which are using the Strait of Hormuz should go ahead and open it themselves. Trump further warned that if necessary, America will not hold back in destroying Iran completely, although at the moment their main objective is to ensure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons, and as soon as this goal is achieved, the Strait of Hormuz will open automatically.
