Yamaha has announced a large-scale voluntary recall of two of its popular 125cc hybrid scooters sold in the Indian market – Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid and RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid due to a possible front brake issue. This recall has been done for a total of 3,06,635 units, which is related to safety concerns.

According to the company, the problem of limited functionality has been found in the front brake caliper (brake clamp) in the affected scooters under certain conditions. This problem can affect the full efficiency of the braking system, increasing the safety risk while riding. However, the company has clarified that this problem does not always appear in all weather conditions or normal use, but this recall has been initiated as a precaution.

This recall is applicable to scooters manufactured between May 2, 2024 and September 3, 2025. These models include both the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid and Razor 125 Fi Hybrid, which are very popular among young and urban customers in India. Fascino is known for its stylish design and comfortable ride, while Razor is liked for its sporty looks and better performance. Both scooters have hybrid technology with Bluecore 125cc engine, which increases fuel efficiency.

Yamaha Motor India has said that owners of the affected vehicles will be provided free replacement of the front brake caliper. The company has also launched a special recall page on its official website, where vehicle owners can check whether their scooter comes under this recall by entering their chassis number (frame number). Free inspection and repair facility will be available by contacting the nearest Yamaha dealership.

Yamaha said that no major accidents related to this problem have been reported so far, but the recall was necessary as a preventive measure. The company has appealed to the customers to get their scooters checked as soon as possible so that there is no inconvenience. This decision of Yamaha will increase the confidence of customers, especially when the company is solving the problem for free. If you have such a model, then go to the nearest dealership and get it checked.
