‘The sooner the more benefit…’ RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale’s statement on population policy, also targeted at TMC

RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale has said that the Central Government should bring a new population policy as soon as possible to stop the increasing ‘demographic imbalance’ in the country. In the meeting of All India Executive Board held in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a high-level mission on population policy, hence it is necessary to take rapid steps in this direction. He said, the sooner that population law is made, the more benefit it will be.

Reason given for ‘population imbalance’
Hosabale said that population imbalance in the country is happening due to three reasons. Infiltration, religious conversion, rapidly increasing population rate in some communities. He said that there are laws to stop forced religious conversion, but society also needs to be aware of it. He termed ‘religious conversion taking place in the name of service’ as worrying and said that organizations like Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Vishwa Hindu Parishad are working in this direction. He also demanded control of live-in relationships at social and legal level.

It is necessary to stop infiltration and conversion – Hosabale
Hosabale said, ‘It is necessary to stop infiltration and conversion. When we talk about demographic imbalance, some people call it communal, but think about how it impacts national security. Those who oppose it, do they speak in the national interest or only do communal politics? He said that if the population pattern changes rapidly in the border areas, it creates a security crisis and increases social tension.

Reference given to Modi’s statement
Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s Independence Day speech, he said that the PM had also warned that the country’s demography was being ‘changed under a conspiracy’ and infiltrators were harming the interests, livelihood and security of the citizens of India. Modi had said that population change in border areas is a big threat to national security. For this reason he had announced the launch of ‘High-Power Demography Mission’.

TMC government also targeted in West Bengal
Dattatreya Hosabale also accused the TMC government of spreading instability and violence in West Bengal. He said, ‘The situation in the state is serious. After the last elections, hatred and violence has increased there due to the political leadership and the Chief Minister. However, despite this, the work of the Sangh is increasing rapidly in the state.
