An 8-year-old innocent girl died during treatment at Butterfly Hospital in Attapur area of Hyderabad on Thursday (26 February). The family directly alleged that the girl was lying unconscious for the last two days, despite repeated complaints the doctors did not pay any attention. Rs 12 to 14 lakh were spent on the treatment, but the girl could not survive.
In a video, only nurses are seen inside the ICU, no doctor is visible. As soon as the news of the death spread, the family started protesting inside and outside the hospital, the atmosphere became tense and police had to be deployed. The family members are now demanding strict action against the hospital management and doctors.

The girl’s parents and relatives were seen crying at the spot. The mother said that we had invested so much money and kept asking every hour how the child was doing, but the only answer she got was ‘everything is fine’. She was not speaking for two days, yet no doctor came.” The father said angrily, “Has this hospital come to cure patients or to earn money?” People holding placards at the hospital gate were shouting “Punish the doctors, give justice!”
Police started investigation
The team of Guddimalkapur police station immediately reached the spot. The police registered the family’s complaint and started investigation. At present, no official statement has come from the hospital management. The family alleges that the absence of doctors is clearly visible in the ICU, which proves negligence. The exact details of when the girl was admitted are not yet known, but the family says that her condition deteriorated starting from simple fever and she died due to lack of treatment.
This incident once again repeats the story of increasing negligence in private hospitals of Hyderabad. A few days ago, a six-month-old child died after being given an expired injection at Crayons Hospital in Rajendranagar. Such cases have become common, where both rich and poor families are unable to save their children even after spending lakhs of rupees. The government should now make strict rules so that such hospitals can be closed which play with the lives of patients.
