President Draupadi Murmu said on Sunday (November 02, 2025) that to fulfill the dream of making a developed India by 2047, cooperation of everyone including women is needed. In his address as the chief guest at the second convocation of Patanjali University here, the President said that he is very happy to know that 62 percent of the total students getting education here and 64 percent of the students receiving degrees today are girls, while the number of girls getting medals is four times that of boys.
He said, ‘This is not just a number, this is the progress of a developed India moving forward under the leadership of women. At the same time, it is an extension of the great tradition of Indian culture in which learned women like Gargi, Maitreyi, Apala and Lopamudra provided intellectual and spiritual leadership to the society.
Out of the population of 140 crores, 50 percent are women.
He said, ‘I am confident that our educated daughters will make Mother India proud with their inner strength and talent.’ The President said that out of the country’s population of 140 crore, 50 percent are women, hence to make India developed by 2047, cooperation of everyone including women is needed.
He said, ‘If only sons make efforts and daughters are left behind, the dream of a developed India will remain incomplete.’ Praising the contribution of Patanjali University in spreading Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy, the President said that along with many sacred rivers, many streams of Gyan-Ganga flow from this region of the Himalayas and an uninterrupted stream of this University has also been added to them.

President Murmu praised the parents
He told the students, ‘By deciding to study in this university which promotes modern education as per Indian culture, you all have become the bearers of a great cultural tradition and your parents should also be appreciated for this.’
President Murmu said that Patanjali University has adopted the path of nation building through personal development. He expressed confidence that the students of this university, through their conduct, will contribute significantly in building a healthy society and developed India.
Environmental protection is essential for the future of human community.
The President described environmental protection and adapting lifestyle to nature as essential for the future of human community. He expressed confidence that due to getting education at the picturesque place here, students will always be ready to face other global challenges including climate change.
A total of 1454 students were awarded degrees in the convocation ceremony, out of which 62 scholars were given the title of Vidya Varidhi and three scholars were given the title of Vidya Vachaspati. Uttarakhand Governor retired Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Reni), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Patanjali University Chancellor Swami Ramdev, Vice Chancellor Acharya Balkrishna and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat were also present at the ceremony.
