Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has targeted Syeda Hameed, a member of the Planning Commission during the Manmohan Singh government. He said in a post on social media that people like Syeda Hameed, close to Gandhi family, justify illegal intruders and want to fulfill Jinnah’s dream. These people want Assam to be made a part of Pakistan. He warned that Assam’s identity is in danger but to save it, he will struggle till the last drop.
What did Sarma write on X?
Sarma wrote on X- ‘People like Syeda Hameed, close to the Gandhi family, justify illegal intruders and want to fulfill Jinnah’s dream that had a conspiracy to make Assam a part of Pakistan. Today, Assam’s identity is on the verge of ending and the reason for this is the silent support of such people. But we are the sons and daughters of Lachit Barfukan, and will protect Assam and their identity till their last breath and last drop blood. I want to say clearly that Bangladeshis are not welcome in Assam, this is not their land. Those who sympathize with them, they should give them a place in their homes. Assam will not be assigned to illegal intruders under any circumstances-now, never.
This is Syeda Hameed, Former Member of the Planning Commission during Congress Era. Just Look at the Audacity! If she feels so strongly about the “rights” of Illegal bangladeshis in assam, why doesn’t she accouncy them in her own home? Perhaps her like-minded friends can also… pic.twitter.com/7zvdtx3udc

Assam BJP also attacks Syeda
Sharing a video of Syeda with the X handle of Assam BJP, it has been written- ‘This is Syeda Hameed, who has been a member of the Planning Commission during the Congress government. Just think, if they are so worried about the “right” of illegal Bangladeshis in Assam, then why not give them a place in their own house? Perhaps his friend friends can also share this burden.
What did Syeda say?
Syeda Hameed visited Assam with a delegation. Apart from Syeda Hameed, this delegation included Harsh Mandar, Vajahat Habibulla, Fayaz Shaheen, Prashant Bhushan, Jawahar Sarkar. These people visited the areas vacated by the government. During this, while talking to the media, Syeda Hameed said that ‘is it wrong to be Bangladeshi? They are also humans. The earth is big, Bangladeshi can also live here. They are not snatching anyone’s rights, but the government is saying that they are taking away the rights of others. Hameed said, it is very wrong and harmful for humanity. They are also humans, Allah has created this earth for people, not for the devil. If a person is living somewhere, then why should he be taken out so brutally?
