A heavy police force has been deployed in the university campus in view of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to Osmania University. During this time, the police arrested BRSV leaders and student leaders, which has led to a situation of tension. BRSV state president Gallu Srinivas Yadav was also placed under house arrest at his residence in Himayat Nagar.
There is a lot of resentment among students and unemployed youth against this action. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has given a big statement about his upcoming tour of Osmania University. He said that when he comes to the university again, no student or protestor will be arrested.
Commitment to hold a meeting in college
Reddy gave clear instructions to the police that not a single policeman should be deployed inside the Arts College Campus, so that the students get complete freedom. He insisted that the students will be given complete exemption to express any demand or resentment in a peaceful manner.
Also, the Chief Minister committed to hold a meeting in front of Arts College, in which the problems of the students will be discussed. This statement has raised hope among the students and unemployed youth of the university, although questions are being raised about the implementation of the previous promises of the government.
BRSV raised questions on CM Reddy
BRSV leader Gallu Srinivas raised questions on the Chief Minister’s visit. He asked whether Reddy has fulfilled promises like recruiting two lakh government jobs, releasing fees reimbursement dues to students, giving scooty to students above 18 years of age, providing education trust card of Rs five lakh or implementing job calendar?
Srinivas alleged that the government has ignored its promises and there is no justification for coming to the university without fulfilling these demands. He has demanded that the government issue notification for immediate jobs and implement the promises made in the interest of students.
Preparation for agitation against government
The BRSV warned that if the government failed to meet these demands, it will unite the students and unemployed youth and start a movement against the government. The organization clarified that it would always stand with students and unemployed.
