When people were trying to download PDF copies of court orders, they were being redirected to a gambling site called BDG SLOT, raising serious questions about the security of judicial data.
This cyber attack has targeted critical resources on the official portal tshc.gov.in, where hyperlinks meant for court orders are now leading to illegal betting pages. Legal professionals and clients noticed this discrepancy when searching for decisions and immediately raised concerns about the risk of data leaks or malware.
Registrar General of High Court complained to the police
Experts believe such attacks are often carried out by taking advantage of unupdated software or weak authentication, allowing hackers to embed dangerous redirects. As soon as the Registrar General of the High Court came to know about this incident, he immediately lodged a formal complaint with the local police.
Cyber crime team engaged in investigation
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IT Act regarding cyber crime and digital forensic investigation has been started to trace the culprits. Teams are working to restore clean links and audit server logs for signs of entry points. This incident has come to light at a time when online gambling scams are on the rise in the region, where betting apps have made thousands of people victims of fraud.
