‘Target to 15% gas stake by 2030, Hardeep Puri introduced India’s green roadmap

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Tuesday (September 02, 2025) that India aims to increase the gas stake in its energy mix by 2030 to increase the current from 6 percent to 15 percent, so that carbon emissions can be reduced.

In a post on social media platform ‘X’, the Union Minister said that there will be 49 and LNG distribution stations in India by December. Apart from this, 13 stations are currently running. India is currently the fourth largest gas importer in the world, with eight LNG terminals, whose combined capacity is 52.7 million tonnes per year.

Union Minister Puri posted, ‘By 2030, 10 terminals, 66.7 mmtpa are targeted, which are currently 13 LNG dispensing stations, they will be 49 more. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LNG is a green and safe future bridge for India.

10 -year supply agreement on adnoc gas

Last month, India received more LNG from the United Arab Emirates with the public sector oil company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and signed a 10 -year supply agreement with government -owned ADNOC gas under the deep energy partnership between the two countries.
