Tamil Nadu News: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Ammapettai Nanjampatti area of Salem, Tamil Nadu, where a woman, troubled by domestic violence, killed her own husband. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Thangam, while the accused is his 34-year-old wife Padma.
Used to doubt his wife’s character
According to the information, Thangam used to work as a bed-weaver and he married Padma in a love marriage. He has two sons and a daughter. It is being told that since marriage, Thangam often used to come home drunk and used to fight with his wife on small matters. Gradually he started doubting Padma’s character and torturing her became his habit.
It is told that Thangam’s mother died on the 16th. During this time, Padma went to Nanjampatti to meet her in-laws and attend the funeral, but Thangam was suspicious of this too. He used to humiliate her and beat her badly many times, due to which Padma was mentally and physically broken.
Wife attacked sleeping Thangam
On the night of the incident, the children were sleeping and Thangam had fallen asleep in an inebriated state. Meanwhile, Padma, filled with anger, picked up a heavy Kuzvi stone lying in the house and hit it on the head of the sleeping Thangam. In this attack, Thangam’s head was crushed and he died on the spot.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body to Salem Government Hospital for post-mortem. The police has arrested the accused Padma. During interrogation, she confessed that she had been suffering from her husband’s torture for a long time and out of anger she took this step.
