Here, the ongoing family dispute regarding the wife of a young man who had married a woman from a different community took such a horrific form that the father-in-law killed his own daughter-in-law by slitting her throat with a decapitation knife. In this incident, the son who had gone to intervene also suffered serious injuries and has been admitted to the hospital. The police is busy investigating the entire matter.

According to the information, Abhimanyu, a resident of Palur village located on the Velur-Tirupattur border near Ambur, used to work in Chennai. He fell in love with Pradeepa, a woman from a different community who worked with him, and married her. After marriage, a few months ago both of them returned to Palur and started the business of Nung (toddy fruit).

Kavita started a fight with Pradeepa

However, this love marriage of Abhimanyu was not accepted by his family. Especially his father Muniyappan and Muniyappan’s third wife Kavitha were against this relationship. He often quarreled with Pradeepa and sometimes even beat her. A case is already registered in this regard in Umrabad police station and this dispute was continuously increasing.

It is being told that on the night of the incident, Abhimanyu was going out for his work. While leaving, he asked his grandfather Samundi to take care of his wife Pradeepa. Meanwhile, at night, Kavita once again started fighting with Pradeepa. When the situation started worsening, Samundi tried to intervene, but the dispute escalated further.

Father-in-law attacked daughter-in-law’s neck

In a fit of anger, Samundi picked up a sharp knife present in the house and stabbed Kavita on her neck. The attack was so fatal that Kavita died on the spot. During this time, while trying to save him, Muniyappan also got injured and suffered a head injury. As soon as information about the incident was received, Umrabad police immediately reached the spot.

Police sent injured Muniyappan and accused Samundi to Ambur Government Hospital for treatment, while Kavitha’s body was sent to Velur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. At present, the police have registered a case in this matter and the entire incident is being investigated in depth.
