Suspension of 8 suspended Lok Sabha MPs may be revoked tomorrow, consensus reached in all-party meeting

The suspension of eight MPs from opposition parties, including Congress, who were suspended after throwing pieces of paper on the chair during the budget session, may be reinstated tomorrow. This decision has been taken in the all-party meeting. A collective consensus has been reached on this. The suspension of all suspended MPs will be canceled by 12 noon on Tuesday.

According to information received quoting sources, this was agreed upon in the all-party meeting called by Speaker Om Birla. A proposal will be brought to cancel the suspension of the MPs. Along with this, it has been decided that MPs will not use placards and AI-generated pictures. Will maintain the dignity of the House.

Every day in the second session of the budget session, the opposition party leaders have been raising the issue of withdrawal of suspension of those eight MPs. Even on Monday, Congress MP KC Venugopal had raised the issue of suspension of these suspended MPs. Speaker Om Birla has agreed to the demand of the opposition on this issue. The Speaker can announce this during Question Hour on March 17. Consensus has been reached on this issue in the meeting of floor leaders.

Om Birla made special request in the meeting

Speaker Birla has requested not to bring placards and AI generated pictures. Opposition leaders have also agreed on this. Here, interrupting the demand of Congress MP KC Venugopal, the Speaker had said that the decision of the House cannot be discussed in the House. After this, a meeting of floor leaders was called at 4.30 pm, on which a consensus was reached.

Which MPs were suspended
Opposition MPs had passed the suspension motion during the first budget session in the Lok Sabha. Dilip Saikia was then on the chair. Opposition MPs tore paper and threw pieces of it at him. Its eight MPs were suspended. These include Congress’s Manickam Tagore, Amarinder Singh Raja Wading, Gurjit Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Prashant Padole, Kiran Kumar Reddy and Left’s S. Venkatesan’s name is included.
