IndiGo is going through a crisis and hundreds of its flights are getting canceled every day. DGCA has also instructed airlines to give 10 percent discount. Meanwhile, in this time of crisis, SpiceJet has made a big announcement. According to the statement issued by the airlines, we are seeing strong and growing demand on key routes this winter and are keen to increase operations to ensure adequate capacity in India’s aviation market. As part of this effort, we are planning to introduce 100 additional daily flights during the current winter schedule, subject to regulatory approvals.
SpiceJet also said through the statement that in the last two months, we have added 17 aircraft to active operations through a mix of damp-leased aircraft and return to service of our own aircraft. The availability of this advanced fleet gives us the operational flexibility to deploy additional capacity on high-demand routes and improve overall network resiliency.
SpiceJet gave information
SpiceJet has said that in the current schedule period our focus is on adding more aircraft, maximizing aircraft utilization and strengthening connectivity through better planning. On Tuesday (December 10, 2025), the Aviation Ministry issued a statement saying that IndiGo has been ordered to reduce its flight schedule by 10 percent. Doing this will help airlines to stabilize operations. In recent days, more than 400 flights of airlines have been cancelled, while hundreds of planes have taken off late. Along with this, the government has also summoned the CEO of Indigo, so that he can provide accurate information regarding the situation.
