Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (September 4, 2025) thanked the Prime Minister of Singapore for cooperation in the fight against terrorism over the Pahalgam terror attack. Addressing a press conference held at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi said that the concerns of both countries about terrorism are the same.
The Prime Minister said, “We believe that fighting against terrorism is the duty of all humanitarian countries. In view of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, I thank Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and the Government of Singapore for their support in our fight against the people of India and their support against terrorism.”
’60th anniversary of India-Singapore relations’
PM Modi said that the visit of Lawrence is also special because both countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of India-Singapur relations. He said, “During my previous visit to Singapore, we extended our relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership.”
Regarding India-Singapore relations, PM Modi said that this relationship goes far beyond diplomacy. He said, “This is an important partnership, based on shared values, inspired by mutual interests and inspired by a shared view for peace, progress and prosperity.”
