After Kana Reddy of Telangana, now rains have wreaked havoc in Medak district. The severe floods under the Shamanapur railway bridge damaged the railway track due to heavy rains, but the vigilance of a local resident postponed a major accident. This incident has explained the importance of mutual coordination between the railway administration and the local community.
Due to continuous torrential rains, the flood water was flowing rapidly under the Shamanapur railway bridge. This fierce water flow shed the soil and pebble-stones under the railway track, making the track hanging like wires in the air. Local resident Shekhar saw this dangerous situation in time. He immediately informed the local police and railway officials.
Rail services were immediately stopped on Akkannapat-Medical route
On the information of Shekhar, the railway administration took quick action and immediately stopped the railway services on the Secunderabad-Nizamabad and Akknap-Medak route. Railway officials said that if this damage had not been seen on time, a major railway accident could have happened, in which heavy loss of life and property was possible.
The technical team of the railway immediately reached the spot and started repairing the damaged track. Officials said that the work of restoring the soil and pebble under the track is going on fast, and railway services will be restored soon. This incident has highlighted the need for regular monitoring of railway tracks during the rainy season.
Shekhar’s vigilance saved millions of lives
Local people praised Shekhar’s vigilance fiercely. An official said, “Shekhar’s awareness not only deferred a major accident, but also saved many lives.” This incident is an excellent example of cooperation between the local community and the administration, which inspires to deal with such situations in the future.
