The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has busted a big sex racket in West Bengal. This racket was being run under the guise of bar-cum-restaurant and dance bar. On Friday (November 7, 2025), the ED had raided several locations including Kolkata and Siliguri, the capital of West Bengal, and seized Rs 1.01 crore in cash, several digital devices, property documents and two luxury vehicles.
ED investigation has revealed that this entire network used to push women into prostitution by luring them with jobs. The accused women were forced to work in these bars, where they were forced into sex work. The black money earned from this dirty business was converted into white by the accused by money laundering through their companies.
Several firsts against the accused FIR and charge sheet filed
The people whom ED has found involved in this racket include Jagjit Singh, Ajmal Siddiqui, Vishnu Mundra and many of their associates. Many FIRs had already been registered against them by West Bengal Police and charge sheet has also been filed. ED had started investigation under PMLA on the basis of this FIR and charge sheet.
Many important evidences found in ED raid
ED teams raided 8 locations in Kolkata and Siliguri. During this, Rs 1.01 crore cash was recovered, many digital devices were seized, documents related to property were found, two luxury cars, Land Rover Defender and Jaguar were frozen. Many bank accounts were identified which were linked to suspicious transactions.
Fake notes were being used in dance bars
Another shocking revelation during the investigation was that plastic notes i.e. fake notes were being used in dance bars. From which women were paid or given further as token money. ED said that this is an organized racket, which was running for years and crores of rupees were being earned from it. The agency is now investigating which companies and to which people this money was sent. ED says that more major arrests may be made in this case.
