Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday (October 19, 2025) warned the politicians of Telangana who are allegedly supporting armed networks while teaching the lessons of democracy. Sanjay Kumar also shared a media report in a post on ‘X’, which claimed that notorious Naxalite Mallojula Venugopal Rao alias Bhupathi has ‘exposed’ the secret nexus between a group of guerrillas and some politicians of Telangana.
Venugopal Rao had recently surrendered before Maharashtra Police. The Union Minister said in his post, ‘Leaders of Telangana, consider this a warning. Those who are allegedly supporting armed networks while teaching the lessons of democracy on the stage, should break their ties, otherwise they will be exposed. Central agencies will not be limited to Maoist activists only.
‘The leader standing on the wrong side falls’
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Central Government is unearthing the nexus that harbors corruption, crime and extremist links and will root them out without any mercy or leniency.
Sanjay Kumar said, ‘No matter who it is, no matter how big you think you are, if you are part of the problem then step aside. In matters of internal security of the country, if even the biggest leader stands on the wrong side, he falls.
Reward of Rs 6 crore on Venugopal Rao alias Bhupathi alias Sonu
Venugopal Rao alias Bhupathi alias Sonu, a native of Telangana and member of the Central Committee and Politburo of the Communist Party of India (CPI)-Maoist, had a bounty of Rs 6 crore on him. Venugopal Rao recently surrendered before the police along with 60 other activists in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.
