A heart-wrenching incident shook the entire area on Tuesday (December 2, 2025) night in Chandrayangutta area of the old city in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. There was a sensation when the decomposed bodies of two youths were found in an auto rickshaw parked under the flyover. After finding traces of drug injection in the preliminary investigation, the police have considered overdose as the main cause of death. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Jahangir, 24, and Irfan, 25, residents of Pislabandha, Paharisharif. Jahangir lived in Santoshnagar, while Irfan’s family is settled in Pahari Sharif.
On Wednesday (December 3, 2025) morning, local people approached the green passenger auto rickshaw parked on Chandrayanagutta main road in front of Roman Hotel, considering it suspicious. When we looked inside, we saw two young men lying unconscious, whose breathing had stopped. Frightened he called dial 100. The team of Chandrayangutta police station immediately reached the spot, where the bodies were taken out. Empty injection syringes, drug residues and needle marks were found inside the auto, which pointed towards an overdose. An official said that there were clear injection marks on the hands of both of them. Cardiac arrest appears to be caused by an overdose of steroids or other drugs.
Police sent both the bodies for postmortem
Chandrayangutta police sent the bodies of both the youth to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. The forensic team has started investigating the auto, in which samples of drugs were sent to the lab. Initial reports have raised suspicion of use of opium or synthetic drugs. Interestingly, the auto driver or the third person has not been identified yet. Statements of some witnesses indicated that three people were in the auto at night, but one ran away. Police are now scanning the CCTV footage.
Chandrayangutta SHO Mohammad Shakeel said, “We have registered a case of suspicious death. We are keeping an eye on the drug suppliers. The whole truth will be revealed when the postmortem report comes.”
The condition of families is bad due to the death of youth
The families are in bad condition. Jahangir’s mother Farzana Begum cried and said that her son used to work as a laborer and never talked about drugs. Didn’t return home last night. Whereas Irfan’s brother said that he used to drive auto and hang out with friends. We had no doubt.
In old cities like Santoshnagar, Pahari Sharif, intoxicating injections are available at cheap prices, which are luring the youth. Experts say that misuse of steroids in the name of muscle building is taking lives.
The Eagle Team of Telangana Police has conducted several raids recently, but the roots run deep. In the latest case, the police have registered a case under the Drugs Act and have intensified the investigation. If a third person is found, there will be an inquiry. This case not only narrates the pain of the families, but also emphasizes the need to save the young generation of the city from the trap of drugs.
