During a meeting with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Delhi, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said, “Today I am happy to announce the development of India’s Technical Mission in Kabul to the level of the Indian Embassy.” He further said that India is fully committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan.
S Jaishankar during the meeting with Muttaki said that close cooperation between us contributes to your national development as well as regional stability and resilience. To further enhance this, I am happy to announce today the elevation of India’s Technical Mission in Kabul to the status of Indian Embassy.

He further said that we have a common commitment towards development and prosperity, however, these commitments are under threat due to the common threat of cross-border terrorism faced by both the countries.
