Road safety campaign 2025: Mumbai concert of Shankar Mahadevan and Shillong Choir

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari participated in this concert which reflects the government’s dedication and commitment to make India’s roads safe.

Inspired by the success of previous years, the road safety campaign empowers each person to secure his life as an initiative through its four pillars. These columns are care, initiative, effort and change.

This year, steps were taken to bring meaningful changes in the direction of safe roads by connecting youth and communities through this campaign. To increase the impact of this mission, security reloaded concert was planned in Mumbai on 6 January. This concert gave this campaign effective and change. This mission got the form of a movement, inspiring collective commitment to safe roads through art, music and story. Shankar Mahadevan Shillong, Chamber Choir and many artists carried forward the issue of being vigilant for the safety of the roads and others through a special performance. A special demonstration was performed by the Jubilee Theater Company under the leadership of Saurabh Nayyar through which interesting stories related to road safety were depicted. Ayush Kalra and Prakriti Kalra, who are popularly known as Age and Pihu, these energetic young leaders anchored security reloaded concerts simultaneously, making people laugh and kept an interactive quiz, which was aimed at connecting the youth and connecting them with this campaign. In this program, a special “oath” ceremony to inspire the youth was also held so that the youth present in the program could be motivated with an oath to become road safety champions.

This concert gave a message of call to action that safe roads are the right of every Indian and all of us should contribute to make them safe. About 11% of the deaths in the global road accident occur in India and the goal of the initiative of the road safety campaign is to change this unfortunate figure.
