Scientific standards are strictly followed to protect the Constitution. Uniform temperature and humidity are maintained throughout the year, which are monitored through special sensors. Controlled lighting is used to protect from direct light and ultraviolet rays. The objective of all these measures is to ensure that the original copy of the Constitution remains safe for future generations.

In the early years, the original copy of the Constitution was kept wrapped in flannel cloth and with naphthalene balls. Over time this method was considered inadequate. After this, in the year 1994, the Government of India adopted modern conservation technology and with the help of America, helium gas chambers were prepared, which are still being used in the protection of the Constitution.

It took approximately 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to prepare the Indian Constitution. Its original copy is still preserved in the same handwritten state. Every page of the Constitution is decorated like a work of art and is considered one of the most secure documents in the world.
