During his visit to Colombia, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi appreciated the global success of Indian companies on Friday (October 03, 2025) and openly attacked nepotism. Gandhi shared a picture of himself on social media ‘X’, in which the Leader of Opposition appeared with a ‘Bajaj Pulsar’ motorcycle.
Rahul Gandhi suggested that India’s business companies can create international identity on the basis of their ability instead of depending on political relations. He wrote in the post, ‘Bajaj, Hero and TVS are proud to see so well in Colombia. This shows that Indian companies can win with innovation, not with nepotism, but very good work.
Only 3-4 companies occupy India
Let me tell you that a day before this, Rahul Gandhi expressed a similar concern at a seminar at EIA University, Medeline, Columbia. He said, ‘To occupy the entire economy on behalf of three-four companies, who have direct connection with the Prime Minister, is common in India.’ He claimed that there is ‘heavy corruption at the centralized level’ in the country.
Gandhi compared India’s system to China and said, ‘India’s system is more complex than China and its merits are very different from the neighboring country. We cannot do what China does, that is, suppressing people and running a powerful system. Our system will not accept it.
Attack on democratic system in India
He said, ‘The biggest risk is an attack on democracy in India, because India has many religions, many traditions, many languages. India is actually a dialogue process between all its people. Gandhi said that different traditions, religions and ideas need their expression and freedom of existence and the best way to make it is a democratic system. He said that at this time there is a widespread attack on the democratic system in India, so this is the risk.
However, the BJP strongly criticized his statements. On Thursday (October 02, 2025) BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, Rahul Gandhi again did the same, insulted India on foreign soil. From defaming our democracy in London to making fun of our institutions in America and now in Colombia, they do not leave any chance to humiliate India on a global stage.
