Putin’s visit to India confirmed in the midst of Trump’s tariff action, NSA Ajit Doval said- Russian President will come soon

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said on Thursday that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will soon visit India. Doval, present in Moscow, did not mention the dates, but according to the Interfax News Agency, Putin is expected to visit in late August.

NSA Ajit Doval said, “There is a special relationship between India and Russia, which we give a lot of importance. We are having high-level contacts between us. We are very excited and happy to know about President Putin’s visit to India. I think the dates will be decided soon.”

Russia attacked America over trade partner

Putin’s visit to India will be at a time when the US has imposed 50 percent tariff on India due to stopping Russian oil purchases. Prior to Ajit Doval’s visit to Russia, Moscow targeted India’s right to choose his business partners to choose his business partners. Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov had said that it is illegal to force countries to break the business relationship with Russia.

US President Donald Trump signed a new executive order on Wednesday (6 August 2025), under which India has been imposed an additional 25 per cent tariff. Trump warned that if Moscow does not agree to stop the war in Ukraine by Friday (8 August 2025), it will impose secondary tariffs on Russian oil buyers.

Trump-Putin will also have a meeting

Kremlin said on Thursday (August 7 2025) that Putin will also meet Trump in the coming days. Russian President’s Foreign Affairs advisor Yuri Ushakov said that both countries are preparing for a meeting. He said that there has been a consensus at the place where Trump and Putin meet, which will be announced later.
