Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘drama’ statement before the beginning of the winter session of Parliament. Priyanka said that actually avoiding discussion on issues like inflation, unemployment and pollution is the real drama, not raising questions in Parliament.
In fact, PM Modi, while targeting the opposition, had said that Parliament is not a place for uproar and there should be ‘delivery, not drama’. On this comment, Priyanka Gandhi retorted and said, “How is it a drama to raise public issues in Parliament? Talking about important issues like inflation, pollution, and SIR is not drama. Parliament is for this purpose. The real drama is not allowing discussion.” He further said that in a democracy, stopping debate on questions related to the public is drama. The job of the opposition is to raise questions and the duty of the government is to answer.

TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee also attacked
Apart from Priyanka Gandhi, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee also gave a strong reaction to the Prime Minister’s comment. He said that if the opposition is demanding debate on SIR then where is the drama in it? “If raising the voice of the public is a drama then the public will respond to it in the next elections.” Abhishek Banerjee also made serious allegations against the Election Commission. He held the Commission responsible for the death of 40 people including the BLO and questioned where the accountability of the government lies. He alleged that after demonetisation, black money has not decreased but has increased.
He said, “We are not against SIR, we are against the way it is implemented. EC did not give training to BLOs, voter lists were not updated. In such a situation, when we want discussion, the Prime Minister calls it drama.” Abhishek also claimed that the Center has withheld Rs 2 lakh crore from Bengal.
huge uproar in the house
On the other hand, as soon as the winter session started, opposition parties protested strongly in the Lok Sabha. Congress and other parties were demanding discussion on inflation, unemployment and various acts, due to which the proceedings of the House were disrupted several times.
