This day was specifically chosen because Bhairava is considered to be the fierce form of Lord Shiva, which is associated with protection and destruction of evil. Bhairav Battalion is a special link between Para Special Forces and regular infantry units. It has been formed keeping in mind the needs of modern warfare, so that action can be taken with speed and accuracy against the enemy threat.
