Union Minister Prahlad Joshi retaliated on Sunday (July 13, 2025), amidst accusing the BJP of demolishing the BJP on behalf of a Congress MLA, and claimed that in view of the speculation of changing the Chief Minister, efforts are being made to ‘purchase’ of MLAs in the ruling party itself.
A Congress MLA has claimed that the BJP is planning to demolish the government in Karnataka and has prepared a list to target 55 MLAs through central agencies.
Conspiracy to wander issues
Congress MLA from Hungund Vijayanand Kashappanwar on Saturday (July 12, 2025) alleged that the BJP had prepared a list of 55 Congress MLAs, so that if they do not join the BJP, they can be raided by ED or CBI.
Reacting to the claims of Vijayanand, Joshi said, ‘Has he (Vijayanand) did something (wrong) to come in the ED list? Those who have done wrong, they will come in the eyes of ED, not another. Those who are right do not have to worry and they will not have to face any problem. This claim of 55 MLAs is a conspiracy to distract the issues.
The purchase and sale of Congress MLAs starts
Talking to reporters here, he claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar has started buying and selling Congress MLAs to gather support.
Joshi claimed, ‘Siddaramaiah recently said that Shivkumar does not have much support from the MLAs, so both are using their money power to raise support in their favor. Both people ready to buy MLAs are strong there (in Congress), so there is no chance to try for us (BJP) and we do not want to join such things.
If the mandate is there, Congress should complete the tenure
The Union Minister said that the official attitude of the BJP is not to go against the mandate. The Congress should complete a 5 -year term, because it has a mandate, but due to internal discord, they are not able to do so. Therefore, they are giving such statements from the MLAs that the BJP is targeting 55 of their MLAs.
