Before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President of the country Ramnath Kovind along with his family reached Rashtrapati Bhavan during the day on Monday (October 20, 2025) to meet President Draupadi Murmu and wished him a happy Diwali. President wishes Diwali to all Indians
At the same time, on Monday morning (October 20, 2025), President Draupadi Murmu congratulated and greeted all the citizens of Indian origin living in the country and abroad. President Murmu said in his post, ‘Diwali is a major and popular festival of India. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and religion over unrighteousness. This festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm in different parts of the country, gives the message of love and brotherhood.
He said, ‘This festival of joy and celebration is also an opportunity for introspection and self-improvement. Just as many lamps are lit from one lamp on Diwali, in the same way we can bring happiness in the lives of the poor and needy people of the society by helping them.
President Murmu further said, ‘I hope that everyone will celebrate this festival in a safe manner keeping in mind environmental protection. I wish that this festival brings happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s life.
