Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (October 30, 2025) inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 1,220 crore near the ‘Statue of Unity’ in Ekta Nagar in Narmada district of Gujarat. A state government release said the Prime Minister landed at Vadodara airport in the evening for his two-day visit to Gujarat and reached Ekta Nagar by road due to bad weather.
At the venue, the Prime Minister flagged off 25 electric buses purchased at a cost of Rs 30 crore. With the addition of these buses to the fleet, now a total of 55 e-buses will provide free service to tourists in Ekta Nagar.
Will be convenient for tourists
Later, the Prime Minister e-inaugurated several projects, including Government Quarters constructed at a cost of Rs 56.33 crore, Birsa Munda Bhawan constructed at a cost of Rs 303 crore, Hospitality District (Phase-1) developed at a cost of Rs 54.65 crore and Satpura Security Wall and Riverfront constructed at a cost of Rs 20.72 crore.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Bonsai Garden, Walkway (Phase-2), E-Bus Charging Depot, Smart Bus Stop (Phase-2), Sardar Sarovar Dam and a replica of the Garden, the release said. These projects will significantly enhance the infrastructure and facilities available to tourists visiting Ekta Nagar.
150th birth anniversary celebration of Vallabhbhai Patel
Prime Minister Modi will lead the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Ekta Nagar on Friday. This year’s National Unity Day celebrations will include cultural festivals and a National Unity Day parade by the security forces to showcase their skill, discipline and valor, an official statement said. National Unity Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man’.
