Tension is at its peak in Western Asia amid the war between US, Israel and Iran. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (March 18) spoke on phone to Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and congratulated him on the upcoming Eid festival. Along with this, there was also discussion between the two about the recent developments in Western Asia. PM Modi reiterated his condemnation of the attacks on Kuwait.
Prime Minister Modi posted the information about his conversation with the Crown Prince of Kuwait on social media platform X. He said, we discussed the current situation in West Asia and expressed concern about the recent incidents. He reiterated India’s condemnation of the attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Also said that peace and stability in the area is necessary. The PM also thanked for supporting the safety of the Indian community in Kuwait.
Talks took place on the Strait of Hormuz
Due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been affected, increasing the pressure on gas and oil supplies around the world. There were also talks between the two regarding ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The Prime Minister said, ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is our biggest priority.
