Addressing the top military commanders of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the success of Operation Sindoor and directed to focus on more jointness, self -reliance and innovation to deal with any unexpected situation in the near future.
PM Modi addressed the three-day (15-17 September) 16th Combined Commanders Conference (CCC) on Monday (in Fort William), the Indian Army Eastern Command (on 15 September 2025). All the top military commanders, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan and heads of the three parts of the army, were present at this top civil and military conference to be held once in two years.
The platform brings together to exchange ideas to the country’s top civilian and military leadership and laying the foundation for the future development of India’s military preparations. The theme of this year’s conference is the ‘year of reforms – changes for the future’, which is in line with the modernization and change of the armed forces.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated armed forces
Addressing the conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the armed forces for the success of Operation Sindoor and also appreciated the important role played by the armed forces in nation building, safe return of Indian citizens from conflict areas and human countries to provide humanitarian countries and providing human countries.
Prime Minister gave instructions to the Ministry of Defense
With the aim of creating the year 2025 in the defense sector ‘year of reforms’, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Defense to encourage the Ministry of Defense to face the future challenges and to implement concrete measures for more jointness, self -reliance and innovation to deal with any unexpected situation.
PM’s statement is important amid differences over theater command
The emphasis on the jointness of PM is important in the sense that in the last few days, differences have been revealed about the shared theater command in the three parts of the army. The Army and the Air Force where are in favor of the theater command, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has advocated the current system (separate command).
Prime Minister Modi reviewed the next two years of the army’s plan
During the conference, the army shared the Prime Minister about the future of the war in terms of preparations for the operations and emerging technology and strategy to the Prime Minister in terms of new circumstances arising from Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister also reviewed the reforms implemented in the last two years and the plan of the next two years.
Prime Minister Office released a statement
The official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that in the next two days, the conference will have a holistic review of various structural, administrative and operation related matters, which will be based on feedback received from various forces. Along with increasing global uncertainties, along with the preparation of the armed forces, the development of the Prime Minister’s vision will also be discussed.
