At least 10 people have died in the stampede that occurred on Saturday (November 1, 2025) at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple located in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, a large number of people have also been injured. This accident in the temple happened due to the huge crowd of devotees gathered on the occasion of Kartik Ekadashi on Saturday.
Many painful scenes of this incident and the incident site have surfaced on social media platforms, which are extremely horrifying. It can be seen in the video that people were trapped between the railings built in the small and narrow path of the temple and were running here and there to save their lives. At the same time, many women were seen screaming and carrying baskets for Ekadashi puja. Apart from this, the people injured in the stampede are also shown being taken away in ambulances so that they can be treated in nearby hospitals in time.
Prime Minister Modi expressed grief over the incident
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the stampede at Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Srikakulam district. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he said, ‘I am extremely distressed by this horrific accident. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

At the same time, the Prime Minister also announced that an assistance amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
